Wheel Throwing Lessons take place at our sister studio - Carrie Lang’s Clay Lab, this is a small private art studio with a maximum of 3 students per session.
Short Course: 4 x 2hr sessions is £140 for one person, or £240 for two people.
If you’ve caught the clay bug after your taster session, our 4-week beginners throwing course is exactly what you need! Join Carrie as she guides you through the entire process of creating pottery pieces from scratch.
You’ll learn essential skills, starting with
how to prepare and wedge your clay,
then dive deeper into various throwing techniques, with plenty of time to practice
once your creations reach a leather-hard state, you’ll learn the art of trimming the base or foot of your pots
Throughout the course, expect to make between 2 to 4 unique pieces. All materials and tools included.
We offer in-house glazing for your creations, or if you’re feeling extra creative, you can sign up for an additional decorating session after your pots have been bisque fired**. It's a wonderful opportunity to embrace mindfulness, connect with the physicality of clay, and unleash your creative spirit!
**Please note that as this is a small independent artist studio firing schedules vary, we will talk about the dates of each firing and when you can expect your pots to be ready to decorate or collect based on what you have made in the sessions.
